	Previously a Perkins Family Restaurant, and before that a used car lot, the Uptown City Apartments was one of Uptown's first residential developments in years. Village Green Companies, a Michigan-based developer and high-end apartment manager, entered the south Minneapolis market in the early 2000's focused on establishing a presence in the marketplace. Focusing on Loring Park, Uptown, and Lyn-Lake, Village Green Companies built three projects within a short period of time.
