STATUS UPDATES

December 29, 2009: The Columbia building is coming along. The two-story structure is up and the storefront is in. Interior build out is underway.

July 17, 2009: Construction began on July 6, 2009.

June 22, 2009: Columbia Sportswear Company announced today that they will be the tenant of this project. The anticipated opening of the store is April 2010. (As a side note, in April 2009, the project was approved for increased height from it's original height of 34' to 39'.)

March 2 , 2009: The project was approved by the Planning Commission on January 5, 2009. A related parking variance was approved by the Board of Adjustment in January 2009. The project is fully entitled. A Finance & Commerce article in February said that a lease had not been signed and that the project was trying to get financing in place.

Project Description
Urban Anthology received approvals to contruct a new, two-story retail building on the parking lot adjacent the Uptown Bar on Hennepin Avenue. The building will flush against The North Face Building and Uptown Bar. The new building will be two levels and will be of similar scale to its neighbor to the north, The North Face.

The Uptown Bar and Cafe would remain operating and have its patio relocate to the rear of the building.

The new building will house Columbia Sportswear Company in all of its space and contain two levels of store space. The store is anticipating an April 2010 opening.
